An important tool of professionals such as interior designers and stylists, the mood board sets a tone for your interiors. Instead of picking out colours and furnishings at random; try to think thematic or at least within a visual framework to get a ‘feel’ of the room.

Once your mood board is in place, it makes it easier to do up the room with accessories such as suitable collectibles, furnishings and curtains etc. The Mood Board idea can be extended to ANY room from the living room to the bathroom, kitchen or even the children's room!

HOW TO CREATE A MOOD BOARD
  • Collect pictures from magazines, books and brochures
  • Collect fabric swatches of your choice from upholstery shops
  • Pick up a Berger Silk shade card from your nearest Berger outlet
  • Select textures that you like and keep references handy.
  • Use two-sided tape to stick all these reference images on thick cardboard or mount it on a wall.
  • Alternatively PINTEREST is another great online tool to create a digital reference mood board.
