Stepping away from the complexity of city life, Kale Café celebrates a minimalistic style of urban lifestyle that almost brings to mind a village café.
Simple, fresh and attractive, the Kale Café in Hangzhou, China has been designed by YAMODesign Studio and is almost a landscape experience, dividing space and décor by function.
While covering nearly 2000 sq feet, the height is a limitation and to meet the challenges of lighting, the designers extended an interesting tree light concept. The integration of mini-houses completes the picture. The ‘trees’ and the quaint houses are reminiscent of a traditional Chinese tea garden albeit in a slick new avatar. These little houses are design elements that are both aesthetic and utility-led for they serve as the bar, a showcase and the rest rooms.
